With a tad of disbelief, I stroll around in the memories of the year past. Staring at an artificial rose my son gave me in a small vase on my study table. He had a big smile on his face in anticipation of my reaction. Most  artificial flowers look so artificial to me. I failed to convince him of my delight in the hug and smile that followed. ‘Mommy, it is a pen!’ I opened it; fine black lines followed the movement of my hand on the white paper. Well, now that can be useful!!!

So often during 2022, I came across situations that did not resonate with my heart, taste or vision. Surprisingly after closer inspection I discovered the usefulness and grace in it. I have learned much this year, but mostly that God’s plans are often disguised in a way that does not resonate with us.

Gratitude is a powerful emotion. It has the power to transform downcast situations and experiences placing us in a joyful position as Hope becomes our companion. Hope gives a peaceful content tenacity, pressing forward.

Hope anchors our souls in the grace and love of our Father. Hope becomes a reservoir of trust that enables us to see past our ideas and visions trusting that God will provide in His way at the perfect designed time.
